Overview
Degree Works is an advising system that shows a student’s progress in their degree program. The requirements listed for a student mirrors the catalog requirements for the year the student began classes at Georgia Tech unless they have since updated their catalog year with the Registrar’s Office. If you have a question about what is shown on Degree Works for a student, please review the chart below to see which team to reach out to.
Whom to Contact about Degree Works
Curriculum Team
The Curriculum team scribes Degree Works to match the degree requirements in the academic catalog. If you see an instance in which the catalog happens to not match Degree Works, please reach out to the Curriculum Team by emailing curriculum@registrar.gatech.edu.
The catalog is published for the academic year on the first day of class for the summer term. This means program modifications, and Core IMPACTS updates or regulations that have been approved through the internal governance process will appear in the new catalog year. At this time, Degree Works will also be updated with any changes.
Degree Certification Team
Exceptions allow you to apply classes in a student’s Degree Works that do not automatically apply to a location. For example, some programs have specific elective requirements that must be approved by the advisor, so courses do not automatically populate in Degree Works. If you are unsure on when or how exceptions should be applied, please reach out to dc@registrar.gatech.edu.
Degree Works has routine system upgrades where the platform may be down for maintenance.
If you are an academic advisor needing Degree Works training, please reach out to dc@registrar.gatech.edu for assistance.
